About Us

Hello Readers,

My born name is Darlene Rogers, born and raised in Moss Point, MS and I am 49 years old and an African American. I am now living in the Spokane, WA area and have been here for 25 years. I have been married and my last name is now Lincoln. My late husband’s name was Grafton Thomas Lincoln and he was an Army Veteran but unfortunately he passed in June of 2008. I have two kids, one daughter and one son, my son’s name is John Rogers he is my first born, is now 31 years old. My daughters name is Ellen Rogers she is 18 years old and is now in college.

The reason why I am telling you about myself is because I am trying to inform you of how I came about the plaque titled "Instrument of God". This plaque is a representation of war and unity throughout our country and although I have never had the inspiration to write a poem, shortly after my husband’s passing, through God’s grace, he gave me this to share with the world. Martin Luther King had a dream to let freedom ring and bring change. This is the same as our new president of African descent and that is the reason why I decided to change the color of the flag from the traditional colors to black and blue.

It is time for the United States of America, as well as the world, to stand as one nation. This plaque is a dedication to my late husband Grafton Thomas Lincoln. After he passed God gave me the inspiration and he is the sole reason why I was blessed with this gift to share with the world. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this.

Sincerely,
Darlene Lincoln
